Silverlake

With so many things going on all the time, good quality family time is hard to get. It is always rushed between work, meals, bedtime, preschool, church meetings and so many other things that when you finally get a beautiful day and nothing planned... you decide spur, of the moment to escape to the mountains. We went up to Silverlake with the girls and walked around. It was beautiful. Then we went to dinner and came home and watched a movie. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was so nice to just be together and not worry about everything else. I hope we can have more days like that.

Carpe Diem

I hope you'll be inspired today by these words from Erma Bombeck (written while she was battling cancer):

"If I had to live my life over, I would have talked less and listened more. I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded. I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room, worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace...and burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains. Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle. I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it...live it...and never give it back."
