This is what I have been doing until 1:30 in the morning. If I didn't get to your picture, don't take it personally, I would have done everyone but my eyes are getting sore. Thanks for the link Lindsey, this was way too much fun.

Jack-o-lanterns

We carved our jack-o-lanterns last night. Here is a picture of Damon and Miya carving out their pumpkins. She didn't like to clean them out. She kept dropping her spoon in and would make Damon or I get it out. She hated having her hands "all dirty" she kept saying "clean it off, Mommy."

Another Fall Weekend

Yesterday we spent the afternoon raking leaves. Miya loved jumping in the big piles with the next door neighbor boy, Henry. It looked like so much fun Damon and I decided to jump in too.
Today we ate dinner in a pumpkin with my parents for Sunday dinner. Miya watched the pumpkin cooking in the oven window and thought that was pretty neat.

Holy Cow!

Last Thursday night Miya helped me make caramel popcorn balls. When we were popping the popcorn the top flew off because we didn't have butter in there and popcorn started flying all over the kitchen. I yelled, "Whoa" when the top first blew off and then as the popcorn was going everywhere, like a volcano erupting, I yelled "Holy Cow". Miya being the little parrot that she is began yelling "Holy Dow, Holy Dow" then she got down off her chair and began swimming in the popcorn all over the floor. Ever since that night, she has been saying "Holy Dow" at random times and especially when she sees popcorn. I am just glad that it wasn't anything worse than Holy Cow.

Damon's Day Off

Damon didn't work last Tuesday so we just had a fun family day. We slept in and then I made pancakes and decided to make them into ghosts because Miya has loved seeing ghosts all around town for Halloween. She loved her pancake. It was a fun breakfast. Then we went to see Kung Fu Panda and to eat at the Olive Garden (my favorite). It would have been the perfect day if I wouldn't have gotten my first speeding ticket ever! I am still bitter.

Our Fun Fall Activities

Tonight for a fun family night activity Miya helped me make some caramel apples, but then she didn't want to eat them, she told me "in a minute, Mommy."
Last Friday, we went to the pumpkin patch and Miya loved riding in the wheelbarrow. She loved it so much that she threw a fit when we pulled her out to try to take a cute family picture.

This is the cute little Haunted House that Miya decorated.
Two weekends ago, we got together with Damon's family and made Haunted Gingerbread Houses. Here are some pictures of my house.

Grateful for a Wonderful Husband

I have realized that I don't say how grateful I am enough for the wonderful people in my life. Lately, it has been Damon. He has really been amazing. He has had so much going on with work that he has pulled some really late hours and has been stressed to the max. But despite it all he has managed to be really positive and never complains. He has been working so hard and still found time to help Ali put in a dishwasher for me (after all my complaining about washing dishes by hand for so long). I know sometimes I don't deserve all that he does for me and Miya, but I am so grateful to be married to Damon. Thanks, Babe! I am so proud of you!

Joining the Blogging World

I have decided to make my blog something that everyone can enjoy. I have joined the wonderful world of blogging. I have started a blog several times over the past couple of years and really never got into it. I had decided that I would use it as a personal journal and keep a blog that way, but now that so many people around me are blogging I have decided to make it more public. I hope I can keep up with it and update often.

My Little Pumpkin

Last Thursday we went to Wheeler Farm with my cousins Jenni and Denise and their kids. All of our children had a hay day in the pumpkin patch, Miya enjoyed trying to pick them up and also trying to sit on all of them and ride them.

Jane Austen

A few days ago I finished the classic book, Persuasion, by Jane Austen. I have never really got into the Jane Austen books. I barely made it through Pride and Prejudice years ago, but I have loved the movies and other books that branched out from the Austen books. My little sister read Persuasion recently and talked me into giving the Austen books another try. I am so glad she did! What a cute story it turned out to be. I have some of her other books on hold at the library and can't wait to go get them.
