Christmas

We had a Christmas Eve Eve Fiesta at the Eves home. It was so much fun to have all of Damon's family (-Chey) here to celebrate the season. We had a Cafe Rio style dinner and Grandma brought a pinata for the kids. They loved it. Then we had a good time laughing over a white elephant exchange. Thanks for the good time everybody.

We had Christmas Eve dinner with my family and opened up our Christmas Eve jammies. It was a nice night spent with good food and fun games. Its always fun to play games.

We did our very first Christmas morning at home. It was really nice. I wish I wouldn't have totally messed up breakfast. Oh-wait I forgot half the ingredients at my parents house so I don't know what to make. OOPS!!! I am glad that Miya and Damon are willing to put up with me and just have a bowl of cereal. (We had a great breakfast the next day though)

Miya is not even two yet and she already rolls her eyes at the dumb and crazy things I do.

Miya loved playing in the big pile of wrapping paper. Most of it was mine and Damon's mess. Miya took a day and a half to open all her presents. She wanted to play with, watch, try on everything that she opened. It was fun to watch her enjoy her presents.

We went to my parents house for the rest of Christmas day and almost had to stay the night. They got so much snow!

Miya loved her new presents, especially her wagon and her new bear. Thanks Grandmas and Grandpas!

Frosty, Santa and Christmas Lights

I took Miya to the mall today to visit Santa. She was so excited and had been talking about it all morning. Even when we were in line to see him she couldn't wait to sit on his lap, but when my mom went to place her on his lap she decided Santa wasn't for her after all. She was so funny. She just sat there very suspicious of Santa. She wouldn't even crack a smile. Tonight we went to see the lights at Temple Square with Chelsea and Josh, Mike and Melissa, and all the kids. I wish it wasn't so cold. We could enjoy the lights so much more. We enjoyed a night of navajo tacos, lights and hot chocolate.

We have gotten quite a bit of snow this week and we couldn't resist playing in it. Miya and I went out and built our very own Frosty. Miya decided we should name her "Dosty the Noman." Now she thinks that everytime we go outside we should make another snowman.

She's My Big Girl Now!!!

In this picture Miya decided to get new underwear on all by herself but instead she came out with bloomers on her bottom and a swimsuit on her head. Damon and I were laughing so hard at her and she knew she was funny. Miya is a big girl these days. We have been potty training the past week and a half and she is doing so good. I am so proud of her. She has been wearing underwear since last Thursday. (we still do diapers doing naps and bedtime, much to her dismay) She still has 1-2 accidents a day, but she does really good. I have to remind her to go potty, but sometimes she will just drop what she is doing and run for the bathroom yelling, "poopoo in da potty" and I chase after her and she does her business. She has pretty much mastered how to go #1, but today she has started to figure out #2. I was worried about her going in other places, but so far she has gone for my mom, my dad, at the church, the stores, neighbor's, and Aunt Chelsea's. She has been very independent about putting on her own underwear. The sad thing is that she is so tiny that without her diaper anymore, her pants sag and her bottom is hanging out. And her underwear is a size too big, because I can't find anything less than 2T. (If anyone knows of where I can get smaller let me know.) My little girl is growing up. It makes me sad, but I am such a proud mommy. Thanks for letting me brag for a minute.

Fun with Cousins

Today we had a play day at Chelsea's. The kids had fun playing and jumping into the lovesac together. This is Bella, Miya, Dylan, and Raegan. I took several pictures and not one of them had all the kids looking at he camera. That should tell you how busy they were.

This is the two littlest. Audrey was so sad, crying on Wyatt's shoulder who was happy as could be. It was too precious not to post.

Then we went to the park. This was the bloodiest trip to the park I have ever been to. After about the 10th injury we decided to call it a day.

A Busy Weekend

Friday night, November 7, Damon and I attended a gala for Enterprise Mentors International (EMI). He has been doing there website for them on a volunteer basis off and on since the spring. In return we got tickets to attend the gala at the Grand America. It was really nice and elegant. I was totally out of my realm. There were some apostles, Holland and Perry, Lloyd Newell and Senator Orrin Hatch. Laura Bush (the first lady) accepted an award from Washington D.C. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang. It was really nice. Not to mention the food was great and the cause was well worth it. You can check out Damon's website and more about them at

During dinner, I went to the bathroom and it was filled with MOTAB singers. They were all wearing the exact same color of dress as me! A couple of them told me that I fit in so well, I might as well sneak up on stage and sing with them. I told them I would love to, but I better not ruin their reputation. It was pretty funny. I wonder what Damon would have done if I never returned from the bathroom and next thing he knows I am up on stage singing with the "world's choir." Thanks Mom, for babysitting, we had a wonderful evening.

On Saturday and Sunday, we went to Midway (near Heber City) with my cousin Jenni and her family. Her husband's family owns this really nice home up there that we stayed in. It was a nice relaxing weekend. Miya and Nora get along really well and played so cute together the whole time. It is always nice to get away.

Great Deals this Week

As many of you know, I have become a coupon clipper. I feel like I am finally getting pretty good at it, matching my sales and coupons. I am not as good as some people I know but I was really proud after this week's shopping trips and just want to brag for a minute. At Smiths, all this stuff (notice that none of it is generic and all good name brand items) that rang up for $75. 33. After the sale deals and my coupons I walked out of there paying only $16.25.

At Albertsons, (ignore Miya's hand trying to steal my Ragu), all of this rang up to $65.66. And I walked out of there spending $21.00, plus they gave me $15.00 off my next purchase for a grand total of $6.00.

First Snow of the Season

On Wednesday we had our first real snow of the season. Miya was so excited. She kept yelling "knowing outdide!" and jumping up and down. I was trying to post the video of her but seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties. (if I get it figured out I will still post it).

Happy Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween. I took Miya up to my mom's work to go trick-or-treating around the office. She made out with a pretty good haul.

Then we went and had lunch with Damon (the Joker) at his work. There the kids could trick-or-treat around the office. They had all kinds of fun activities planned for the employees and their families. Unfortunately, Miya was getting tired so I took her home and we missed the costume parade, the Fear Factory, and some other things. Damon had a good time though. Miya didn't like the spook alley that they had set up with bats flying around.

On Halloween night we went to Damon's sister's house and had soup. Then we took the kids trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Miya took a few houses to get the idea that you have to stay on the porch to get the candy. She kept trying to walk away after saying trick-or-treat. Jack-o-lanterns

We carved our jack-o-lanterns last night. Here is a picture of Damon and Miya carving out their pumpkins. She didn't like to clean them out. She kept dropping her spoon in and would make Damon or I get it out. She hated having her hands "all dirty" she kept saying "clean it off, Mommy."

Another Fall Weekend

Yesterday we spent the afternoon raking leaves. Miya loved jumping in the big piles with the next door neighbor boy, Henry. It looked like so much fun Damon and I decided to jump in too.
Today we ate dinner in a pumpkin with my parents for Sunday dinner. Miya watched the pumpkin cooking in the oven window and thought that was pretty neat.

Holy Cow!

Last Thursday night Miya helped me make caramel popcorn balls. When we were popping the popcorn the top flew off because we didn't have butter in there and popcorn started flying all over the kitchen. I yelled, "Whoa" when the top first blew off and then as the popcorn was going everywhere, like a volcano erupting, I yelled "Holy Cow". Miya being the little parrot that she is began yelling "Holy Dow, Holy Dow" then she got down off her chair and began swimming in the popcorn all over the floor. Ever since that night, she has been saying "Holy Dow" at random times and especially when she sees popcorn. I am just glad that it wasn't anything worse than Holy Cow.
